A new job search engine « made in Canada »
3 years after the launch of Nicejob.ca, a new Canadian job search engine is making its appearance under the name Eluta.
Eluta is a Medicorp Canada initiative, a publishing company specialized in employment related guides, also the creators of the prestigious “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” contest.
Eluta indexes offers from company career sections freely and automatically. Placement agency offers and job boards however don’t have their place on the site. The offers can be searched by category, job title, company name, qualification, key words and location.
A job alert service and RSS feed is of course offered to candidates to notify them of new offers corresponding to their criteria. Also a service offered by Google map can pinpoint the location precisely. Although the engine interface and it’s functions closely resemble those of its American counterpart, Indeed, the Eluta engine benefits from a detailed description of a majority of companies, taken directly from from “The Career Directory,” published by its mother company Mediacorp.
If your offers are not already indexed by this engine and you wish to increase the volume of candidates you receive, all you need to do is make a request directly on the site.
With the growing number of vertical search engines indexing job offers for free and initiatives such as Google with Google Base or eBay with Kijji, which allow posting job ads for free (or cooking recipes…) on the internet, the value of postings on generic sites seems unavoidably inclined toward zero…
