The most significant job board in the US, CareerBuilder, owned by Knigth Riddr, Tribune and Ganette, the three most prominent American newspaper editors, seems determined to make its way to its northern neighbor. The careerbuilder.ca domain has been active since the beginning of March 2006 and candidates looking for jobs in Canada will from now on be redirected to this site.
The company is currently recruiting a National Account Executive, a Major Account Executive and an Inside Sales Representative in Toronto.
It remains to be seen how this will change the shape of the Canadian market. The agreement in place since February 2004 between CareerBuilder and Workopolis, to offer each others services to their respective clientele, no longer seems to be order of the day…the link from CareerBuilder to Workopolis for job seekers in Canada has been replaced by careerbuilder.ca, but the link from Workopolis to CareerBuilder for jobs in the US remain… but for how much longer?
