October is Healthy Workplace Month. For the occasion, the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) is organizing two free webinars on October 13 and 14.
All you need is a computer with an Internet connection and you’re all set! The first webinar, “Implementing Healthy Eating Programs in the Workplace,” will be held Wednesday, October 13, at 1 pm. EST and will be presented by Heather Harvey, of the Ontario Public Health Association. She will discuss healthy eating in the workplace and how to implement healthy eating programs. She will also talk about the Eat Smart!® Workplace Program, Ontario’s healthy eating award program.
The second webinar, organized Thursday, October 14 at the same time, is titled “Make the Move: Staying Physically Active at Work.” Lindsay Wright, from Be Fit For Life, and Angela Torry, from the Alberta Centre For Active Living, will outline how employers can help their employees become more active during work hours and work breaks, and will provide easy-to-apply suggestions. Demonstrations will also be given, showing how you can exercise even sitting at a desk all day.
Space for the two events is limited, so pre-registration is required
