The key findings of a global study by SuccessFactors and Accenture of 430 senior managers in enterprise firms of at least 3,000 employees are that companies are failing to monitor, motivate and retain their workforce.
The study, titled "The Link Between Strategic Alignment and Staff Productivity,” shows that 80% of managers doubt their ability to communicate and implement their strategic decisions. For instance, only 17% of respondents say they can identify their top performers and develop their potential for future roles. It also reveals that new technologies have greatly improved productivity—over the past five years, it has increased by 79% in companies with computer systems to manage productivity and the achievement of objectives, vs. only 47% for those that continue to rely on manual systems.
