Internal training undertaken by workers

According to an OfficeTeam study on professional training, Canadian workers prefer workshops delivered internally by a professional (33%). Their choice is then directed to company-paid external training (22%), online courses (18%) and using reference books (16%). Companies seem to be listening to employees’ desires in terms of training. 67% of HR managers who responded to the study believe that they are able to provide face-to-dace internal training. 69% also make online courses available, 64% subsidize external training and 62% provide books and other reference materials.

On the other hand, only 35% of executives indicated they subsidize classes taken by employees outside of work.
