Job creation: optimistic forecasts for the second half of 2012

A recent survey by CareerBuilder updates recruitment forecasts for Canadian companies for the second half of 2012. 40% of them intend to hire new full-time employees, 22% part-time employees, 26% temporary contracts and 17% trainees. Hirings are more in metropolitan than rural areas, mainly in the technology and information, customer service and administration sectors.
The survey also uncovered practices in creating new functions. Positions that did not exist five years ago include those related to data storage and management, social media, financial regulation and cyber-security.
