An English language school in China has clearly stated its refusal to hire candidates born under the Scorpio or Virgo astrological signs.
“We don’t want Scorpios or Virgos, and Capricorns, Pisces and Libras will be prioritized,” No, this is not a joke, but an actual job ad published by a Chinese firm. The reasons cited were that Scorpios had strong personalities and were moody, while Virgos were hugely critical and did not stay in one job for long.
It is not the first time that this kind of discrimination has stirred up controversy in China. Not too long ago, a woman applied for a job with a wedding company but was let go because “Aquarius and Scorpios are more suited to the job,” the report said. The affair has already gone viral on the Internet.
Other Chinese employers have their own special hiring quirks—in 2004, in Hunan province, an ad for a bureaucrat specified that the candidate was required to have perfectly symmetrical breasts.
