In this role, you will operate within a model that includes Centers of Excellence (COEs) and HR Shared Services, serving as a strategic partner to organizational leaders. While hands on support and dealing with reactive HR related issues will still be required, you will have worked in a strategic business partner role previously and know how to align business and people strategies to foster a culture that supports achieving business objectives. Your key focus areas will include employee relations, talent management, organizational development, and the implementation of People and Organization (P&O) programs.
Based in Alberta, you will work remotely, with travel as needed to support practices and leaders across the province. Partnering closely with our Director, Operations, and Regional Managers, you will provide HR leadership and strategic support to your assigned region. As a collaborative member of the HR team, you will assess practice-level needs and proactively design and implement HR solutions aligned with Dentalcorp's strategic priorities.
In this role you will
Act as a strategic and trusted partner, providing guidance to regional leadership (Directors of Operations and Regional Managers), on strategic, tactical, and operational people issues.
Support the implementation of the Provincial People strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals through the HR balanced scorecard.
Collaborate with regional leadership to advance key People initiatives, including learning and development, rewards, recognition, and culture programs, ensuring they align with regional priorities. Facilitate workshops and lead training sessions to support program success.
Advise regional leadership on performance management and employee relations, ensuring consistent application of policies across locations.
Champion culture and engagement initiatives to enhance the employee experience and drive regional satisfaction.
Act as a change agent to ensure smooth adoption of new People initiatives, tools, and processes.
Utilize workforce analytics to identify trends and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support leadership decisions and people metrics.
Track and measure HR initiatives using metrics such as engagement, turnover, and productivity, adapting strategies to drive continuous improvement.
Drive solutions to improve the employee experience, aligning with organizational strategies and fostering a positive culture.
Collaborate with regional leadership to build succession plans, identify critical roles, and create development opportunities to reduce external recruitment and improve retention.
Coach operational leaders to build leadership capability, empowering them to effectively lead, develop, and engage teams.
Partner with operational leaders to address workplace relations issues, investigations, and terminations, ensuring fair, consistent outcomes and compliance with labor laws and regulations in collaboration with the Legal team as needed.
Ensure compliance with workers' compensation policies and regulations across the region.
Travel up to 50% of the time may be required.
What we're looking for
Post-graduate education in HR or related field; CHRL designation, or in progress, is considered an asset
5-7 years of Human Resources Business Partnering experience
Demonstrated passion for HR - up to date on current legislation, trends, and best practices
Experience leading complex workplace investigations, and implementing resolutions
A true employee engagement champion and experience supporting engagement in a multi-unit business environment
Strong influence and relationship management skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders
Proven ability to analyze information, and develop strategies to address
Strong business acumen
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
