Terrain Park Spring - Hiring Clinic

We are recruiting Terrain Park Crew for the 2025-2026 season. We are seeking expert freestyle skiers or snowboarders, who work well in a team, offer superior customer service, and share our passion for working outdoors. This year's clinic will be hosted on Sunday, April 27th. The hiring clinic will include assessments of freestyle skiing and snowboarding abilities, participation in regular duties including maintaining terrain park features, ropes and signage skiing and riding between work areas.

What you can Expect:

Terrain Park Rangers provide an outstanding experience for guests by operating and maintaining the progressive terrain parks at the Ski Area. Rangers focus on public safety and on creating experiences that favor all ability levels. Terrain Park Rangers report to the Terrain Park Supervisors, to the Slopes Supervisor, and work closely with the entire Mountain Operations department.

Job Functions

  • Providing safe, fun, and enjoyable freestyle ski and snowboard areas at the Ski Area.
  • Participating in the construction, design, and maintenance of the terrain parks.
  • Maintaining all snow fencing, signage, and other identifiers (including adherence to current sponsorship agreements and promotional partnerships) within parks, focusing on risk management, brand exposure, and employee safety.
  • Responsible for documenting all daily checks and reporting deficiencies and hazards to the right personnel.
  • Traveling safely and professionally on skis or snowboard to perform tasks, riding chairlifts at times with tools/equipment, working a physically demanding role in a challenging, remote, alpine environment.
  • Timely and accurate incident reporting to the appropriate departments and personnel.
  • Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Experience/Requirements

  • Intermediate skier or snowboarder, experience riding in a terrain park setting.
  • Must be outgoing and positive, with a friendly attitude towards coworkers and the public.
  • Strong work ethic, taking pride in the job and finished product.
  • Prepared to work flexible schedules (weekends, holidays).
  • Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions (appropriate footwear, layers, gloves, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Skiing and riding for work requires completion of a competency test, skiing and riding professionally, and is restricted to designated runs and areas.
  • Providing your own ASTM-compliant helmet and equipment for work which must be in good operating condition, meet Company requirements, and will be tested.
  • Maintain professional conduct when in uniform on or off-duty.
  • Effectively provide support and assistance to coworkers.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings, training, and company initiatives.
  • Adherence to all company policies, and procedures concerning public safety and park access.
  • Must be neat, punctual, and dependable.

Additional Considerations

  • Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
  • This position is very physical and requires the ability to stand and ski for long periods of time, constant trunk rotation, frequent lifting of equipment (up to 20 kg), riding with a backpack, balancing and riding on snow with heavier loads and materials.
  • This role operates may operate equipment and hand tools.
  • Rangers work in a remote, alpine environment, and at times independently.
  • Required outdoor uniform pieces are provided.

This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Employee Handbook, the HR Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
