The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Communities of Expertise, the Manager, Talent Acquisition will be responsible for developing and executing strategic recruitment plans to attract top talent. This role involves leading a team of talent acquisition professionals, proactively anticipating business challenges, and supporting an innovative and creative approach to maintaining a strong talent pipeline. The Manager, Talent Acquisition ensures candidate and client experience is at the fore-front of all process improvements, ensuring the team delivers high quality client service and operational efficiency within the talent acquisition practice. Key responsibilities include overseeing recruitment activities, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring ATS (Applicant Tracking System) accuracy, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to strategically source candidates to support SAIT's overall talent strategy.
As the Manager of Talent Acquisition, you will play a vital role in shaping SAIT's workforce by creating and implementing innovative recruitment strategies. You will provide market leadership, ensuring all our activities align to our institution's talent strategy and are delivered to a high standard. You will collaborate and partner with hiring leaders to understand staffing needs and align recruitment efforts with SAIT's business objectives. A critical focus will be on promoting diversity and inclusion through strategic outreach to underrepresented groups.
The successful candidate will also drive SAIT's employer brand, positioning it as a premier workplace through targeted communication and marketing initiatives. You will analyze recruitment data to evaluate the success of hiring efforts and continuously improve recruitment processes. Additionally, you will provide education and support to hiring managers, helping them enhance their interviewing and candidate selection skills. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement to support SAIT's long-term staffing goals.
The Role
Lead and mentor a team of Talent Acquisition Professionals
Oversee all aspects of the recruitment process including: job postings, sourcing, interviewing, assessment, and offer management to ensure seamless, efficient and positive experience for candidates and hiring teams
Plan and prepare for the academic semester hiring, with a continuous improvement lens
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and relevant regulations as it pertains to talent acquisition
Collaborate with internal partners to develop and implement effective workforce planning and talent attraction and retention strategies aligned with the institution's staffing needs, long-term goals, and diversity objectives
Develop standards and process improvements to increase efficiency of recruitment processes
Create, develop, and apply metrics to track and measure success of team's function
Establish partnerships with academic and professional organizations to create a pipeline of qualified candidates, especially in specialized fields unique to the post-secondary environment
Strategically organize, budget and coordinate talent by means of career fairs, industry events etc
Partner with SAIT's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Indigenous Engagement groups
Monitor and preplan hiring targets as set out by the collective agreements (if applicable)
Build hiring action plans and roadmap to ensure hiring goals are achieved
Ensure understanding of SAIT's strategy and academic needs to support success
Goal oriented with a continuous improvement lens on processes and best practices
Ability to present to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders
Keep a pulse on market conditions and ensure candidate pipelines are strong; ensure transparent communication with business and HRBPs
Recommend and implement proactive talent sourcing techniques & strategies to attract and build a talent pipeline for key roles
Tracking recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness of hiring strategies and making data-driven decisions to improve talent acquisition practices
Ensure accurate and complete documentation is maintained through all phases of the recruitment process, and is compliant with relevant legislation
Enhance the institution's reputation as an employer of choice by promoting its culture, values, and benefits, both internally and externally
Implement strategies to attract diverse candidates and promote equitable hiring practices that reflect the institution's commitment to inclusion
Collaborate with third-party recruitment agencies, job boards, and digital platforms to enhance outreach and candidate sourcing
Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary degree, with preference given to focuses in human resources, business administration, or another related field.
CPHR strongly preferred
Proven experience in talent acquisition and leadership
Minimum of five years of experience leading a Talent Acquisition Team
A background in human resources, with working knowledge of major processes
Preferred working knowledge of legislation and practices in the post-secondary sector
Experience working within a unionized environment and managing collective agreement requirements as it pertains to talent sourcing
Preferred experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Skills:
Strong understanding and experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and consult in a team-environment
Dedication to customer focus and quality
Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritize, execute, and meet deadlines while under pressure
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Salary range: $97,930.00 - $148,284.00
Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
