Our Training and Compliance Delivery (TCD) team is looking for a Manager to lead the team! This is an opportunity to work with real time operations, system controllers and managers, operations support personnel, and Reliability Standard Owners and Requirement Owners. You will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team of Compliance Analysts and Trainers to support the design, development, and delivery of Alberta Reliability Standard (ARS) compliance-based training; and the monitoring, detection, and corrective actions required for compliance with all AESO-applicable operations and planning of ARS. You will also provide leadership through North American Electricity Reliability Coordinator (NERC) Continuing Education audits, and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) O&P audits; annual self-certification is an important part of this role.

Key accountabilities include:
Provide leadership and coaching to members of the Training and Compliance Delivery team.
Provide strategic direction for training and compliance delivery by incorporating a research-based approach based on understanding of human factors and performance improvement principles.
Lead the Training team and other AESO collaborators in the design, development, and delivery of the annual Alberta Restoration Training required by ARS.
Lead the Training team to provide AESO System Controller (SC), SC in Training, and Operations Support Personnel compliance-based training for Communications, Personnel, and Emergency Operations ARS.
Actively collaborate with ARS Standard Owners, Requirement Owners, and ARS development team members to ensure compliance with all AESO-applicable O&P standards.
Review and approve internal business practices used to demonstrate compliance to Alberta Reliability Standards prior to the standard effective date.
Review and approve Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets and evidence as the Standard Owner or Requirement Owner, when assigned.
Actively participate in the review and analysis of new or revised Alberta Reliability Standards that apply to the AESO from an implementation and compliance perspective on behalf of TCD.
Support drafting internal Event Analysis reports including root-cause analysis and NERC cause coding, when applicable.
Review self-report forms, mitigation plans, mitigation plan completion forms for TCD.
Lead collaboration with other departments (as needed) during NERC Continuing Education provider and WECC O&P audits.

What you'll bring to us:
Bachelor, or master's degree in adult education, performance improvement, resilience engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in leading cross-functional teams, or previous leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Understanding of adult learning and practices.
5+ years of experience working on compliance with Alberta Reliability Standards.
5+ years of experience working on operations training in the electrical industry in Alberta.
Demonstrable experience working within NERC Continuing Education Program requirements.
Experience collaborating with colleagues throughout an audit cycle will be an asset.
