About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Sr. Mgr. Reporting & Analytics, Downstream Commercial, Cenovus is currently looking for a Senior Value Chain Performance Advisor to join its organization. This role will help lead the translation of the Short Term operating plan details into weekly/monthly reporting requirements, including short term optimization, plan vs. actual lookback and performance management reporting. Additionally, this role will help to promote understanding of the integrated value of the Downstream value chain and to enhance commercial competence to drive value for Cenovus.

What you'll do:

  • Identify and implement areas of potential value and process improvement through consumable and concise reporting

  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to translate plan outcomes and results into financial requirements

  • Collaborate with partners to support development of automated visual and analytics tools for supervising and reporting

  • Evaluate and present results to collaborators and senior management, explaining sophisticated concepts and findings simply and concisely

  • Facilitate ideation meetings, provide support in uncovering gaps through using internal analytics

  • Leverage corporate tools and capabilities to improve Downstream internal analytics skills

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in finance, reporting, analytics, or a related role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in solution design thinking and financial acumen

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and an ability to work independently, adapt in changing environments, and meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly interpret and convey financial information to various audiences

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the capability to engage and coach a diverse audience on data analysis and new methodologies

  • Broad knowledge of data management technologies and a commitment to continuous learning in emerging trends

  • Experience in data modeling, data mining, data warehousing, and metadata management is an asset

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; progress towards CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent designation preferred
