The Trainer, Charter Standards and Procedures is responsible for evaluating and delivering customer service training to ensure consistency and excellence across all Canadian North airports and cargo facilities. This role involves developing training programs, facilitating workshops, and maintaining training records while supporting operational and service standards. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, experience in training or mentorship, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the Company's Safety Management System program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety;
  • Evaluate customer service training needs to ensure exceptional customer service is provided in a consistent manner at all airports and cargo facilities served by Canadian North;
  • Assist in development of training programs, client manuals and curriculums to address training requirements;
  • Present technical information in a classroom environment when required;
  • Facilitate training workshops where student participation is the primary focus;
  • Make recommendations to the Manager Charter Support when additional tools, resources and training may be required to provide superior customer service;
  • Conduct evaluations to ensure Canadian North's policies and procedures are consistent throughout the system;
  • Maintain records in Sum Total of all required and completed training for Canadian North employees and contractors;
  • Travel to other bases could be required;
  • Other duties as assigned;

Skills and Qualifications

Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent related work experience;
  • One (1) year of previous relevant experience;
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills and experience;
  • Proven interpersonal skills in dealing with both the external and internal customers;
  • Organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to manage projects from beginning to end;
  • A high degree of self motivation and commitment to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment;
  • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal organizational and training skills;
  • Strong ability to motivate employees to learn and apply skills;
  • Two to three years of Customer Service experience;
  • Experience in mentor/trainer role considered an asset;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset;
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
