About this position:

As a Specialist in Cabin Safety Training & Standards, you'd be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining training programs and standards related to cabin safety, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing technical guidance to airlines and other stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining personal Flight Attendant and Instructor qualifications
  • Conducting Flight Attendant recurrent and Pilot EPT initial and recurrent training in accordance with the approved training programs, if and when required by Cabin Safety
  • Conduct line checks of flight attendants and Cabin Safety Instructors
  • Conduct line indoctrinations when required
  • Conducting training of Inflight Services Programs
  • Conduct new instructor onboarding
  • Conduct compliance audits on Cabin Safety Instructor Team
  • Provide mentorship and support to instructor team
  • Act as the Primary instructor for Initial Training classes
  • In conjunction with the Manager, Cabin safety training and Standards, design manage and update all Flight Attendant Training Programs
  • Assist in the recruitment of new Instructors
  • Liaising with Flight Attendants and other departments to address and resolve training concerns
  • Identify, correct and report issues of training non-compliance to Manager
  • Supporting Manager, Cabin Safety Training and Standards with management of electronic systems for record keeping and deployment of training material and operational documentation
  • Manage serviceability of training equipment and coordinate repair and replacement with Lead - Cabin Safety Administration

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree, Professional Designation, and/or License (i.e. P Eng, ATPL, AME) {Please note: Due to the amount of technical writing and knowledge required for the development and maintenance of regulated documents, post-secondary education is required in education, adult education, learning, eLearning or technical writing, preferably)
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet firm deadlines
  • Northern experience, a definite asset
  • Ability to and enthusiastic about travel through our network
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
