Reporting to the VP, People Services, this role leads key people functions including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Strategic Workforce Planning, and Compensation & Benefits Design. The Manager, People and Culture ensures talent and development programs align with organizational strategy to enhance engagement, development, and retention.

With a focus on building a resilient, values-driven culture, this role partners with leaders to develop and implement innovative people strategies. By blending strategic foresight with practical execution, this role supports both current business needs and future workforce priorities.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

  • Strategic HR Leadership - Align People and Culture programs with organizational strategy to support engagement, retention, and development.
  • Team Leadership - Manage and develop a collaborative, high-performing team of People and Culture professionals.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning - Drive strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Compensation & Benefits Strategy - Oversee compensation structures and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance - Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with employment standards.
  • HR Analytics & Insights - Use data-driven insights to enhance people strategies and workforce effectiveness.
  • Change Management & Culture Development - Lead organizational change initiatives that foster an inclusive and engaged workplace.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in talent acquisition, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Proficiency in analytics to measure effectiveness and inform decisions.
  • Deep knowledge of Alberta employment standards and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience leading organizational change and driving adoption of new initiatives.
  • Ability to integrate DEI principles into programs to ensure equitable policies and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, balancing business needs with team member experience.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • CPHR certification (or similar) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including key People and Culture functions.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing People and Culture teams or projects.
