This position works in the Business Operations Division in the Lands & Facilities department. This is administrative and technical work involving project liaison and coordination work for a variety of process improvement projects; the preparation of various reports, project specifications, schedules, and budgets and assisting in the management of process improvement projects. Overall project priorities are established by a supervisor and within those parameters an incumbent exercises considerable independence of judgement and action. Further duties include attending all project committee meetings; preparing and maintaining a variety of materials such as records, status reports and correspondence; investigating discrepancies and recommending other actions; reviews and advises on proposed changes; monitors and assesses project progress including cost, schedule, risk, and resourcing. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include graduation from an Institute of Technology with a Diploma in Building Technology, including or supplemented by courses in project management plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Thorough knowledge of methods and practices as related to the work performed such as process improvement and change management. The ability to coordinate the design process and scheduling of projects; to review, analyze, assess and interpret related plans, specifications and other material; to deal effectively and tactfully and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts; and to prepare and maintain related reports, records, and correspondence. A valid Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
