As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our team. This role is based at Burnaby Head Office (on-site position).

Job Overview:

The Compensation Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of the company’s national compensation programs. This position provides strong analytical support in various functions, including cost analysis and forecasting, base pay management, compensation program development and training, and headcount budgeting and planning as needed.

We’re looking for a Compensation Analyst who is self-motivated with a strong foundation in compensation analysis, reporting, and program management. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to handle confidential information with discretion and work with multiple stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare comprehensive analyses and materials to support various national and enterprise-wide compensation programs. Demonstrate the ability to extract, compile, and synthesize data from various sources while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Complete salary survey submissions across external platforms, ensuring that data is accurate and up to date. Maintain accurate records across various compensation systems to ensure the organization’s compensation strategy is competitive and aligned with market trends.
  • Assist in activities related to compensation recommendations, including the creation of reports, job evaluations, and program proposals. Provide data-driven insights to inform key compensation decisions.
  • Support the headcount budgeting process by assisting with the ongoing maintenance, analysis, and reporting of headcount data. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and workforce planning needs.
  • Contribute to the development of compensation program recommendations and presentations for program design changes. Provide comprehensive analysis to support program proposals and improvements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and business leaders, to provide analytical support and insights that inform compensation decisions. Respond to inquiries and requests related to compensation data and reporting.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in compensation or a related field, or a master’s degree with less than 4 years of experience.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office tools, with an advanced focus on Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • High attention to detail, especially when working with large data sets, to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and providing timely, accurate, and actionable information.
