Purpose of the role:

LifeLabs is seeking a strategic, resourceful and experienced Senior Consultant to develop and implement an HR and Recruitment plan to support a business growth initiative for LifeLabs in B.C.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a cross-functional team of leaders from across LifeLabs and to apply strategic, analytical and innovative thinking as well as your knowledge and experience with human resources and recruitment to a critical project that will positively impact the future of healthcare in B.C.

LifeLabs operates under a Hybrid workforce model. Further details will be provided during the interview stage.

Accountabilities:

  • Plan and conduct research to understand the B.C. labour market and the current and future availability of healthcare professionals required for LifeLabs business needs in B.C
  • Collaborate with the LifeLabs HR Analytics team to collect, analyze, and interpret LifeLabs internal workforce data and HR metrics relevant to this initiative
  • Partner with LifeLabs compensation, labour and HR teams to understand our compensation and benefit plans and collective agreements and ensure these are incorporated in planning
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to support the needs of the initiative
  • Conduct a needs assessment including a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop a comprehensive strategic and operational plan to attract and retain the resources required to deliver this growth initiative in the short and long-term, including plans for sourcing, recruiting, internal resource redeployment and onboarding
  • Understand the training, regulatory and accreditation requirements for specific LifeLabs positions in B.C. Assess the feasibility of implementing an internal development program in partnership with local Colleges and Educational institutions to internally develop unskilled resources. If feasible, develop a comprehensive and fully costed plan to implement the internal development program within LifeLabs
  • Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders to gather input, feedback and approval for the plan
  • Partner with Government Markets, HR, Operations and other internal LifeLabs teams to implement the recruiting and training plans
  • Develop a method to measure the effectiveness of the plan

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • University degree with a focus in Human Resources or Business
  • A minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience working as a human resources consultant, or management or strategy consultant with experience in human capital or talent engagements
  • Advanced understanding of training and development, recruiting, sourcing and human resources strategies
  • Knowledge of research methods, techniques, and resources with advanced attention to detail and analytical skills to research and review materials and provide relevant input and reports
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as planning, organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively balance a variety of stakeholder interests
  • Ability to present material at a strategic level while also understanding the details and dependencies to present an issue from a holistic perspective
  • Experience with formal business communications and reporting to senior leadership
  • Microsoft Excel skills, including the corresponding ability to visualize, interpret, and report results
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful
