Position Summary

Interior Health is hiring a term-specific full-time External Recruiter who is passionate about making a difference in healthcare. The end date of this position is approximately March 2, 2026.

Location: This position is flexible within the Interior Health Region.

Salary range for the position is $74,618 to $107,264. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:
The External Recruiter is responsible for providing value-added advice and guidance to client-managers within the specific portfolio on external recruitment activities. External Recruitment is organized by Collective Agreement (including non-contract). A strong team approach is taken to ensure standard levels of service for all customers.

• Developing and sustaining Interior Health (IH) recruitment capacity
• Building relationships to attract potential future talent.
• A strong recruitment team that supports hiring managers in meeting their health Human Resource needs

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.

What will you work on:
Working within an accountability framework, the key responsibilities include:
• Working collaboratively with IH leaders/managers to proactively identify recruitment needs.
• Ensures hiring managers are engaged with Career Marketing efforts to support opportunities to recruit qualified staff.
• Prescreening and short-listing candidates as per manager specifications
• Assisting with the development of hiring tools
• Providing HR guidance on interview and selection of external applicants
• Maintaining an inventory of qualified external applicants
• Works with marketing specialists to develop marketing materials.
• Liaising and building relationships with educational institutions within the portfolio to attract potential staff.
• Developing, evaluating, and continuously improving recruitment practices and services
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience
• A relevant undergraduate degree (A non-related degree and experience, in combination with a professional designation (CPHR), will be considered)
• A minimum of three years of recent, related experience combined with:
o Experience running a high volume recruitment desk.
o Experience of interviewing and using selection tools

Skills and Abilities
• Sound knowledge of leading recruitment practices
• Demonstrated innovative thinker with the ability to translate ideas into process and/or action, including the ability to blend innovative ideas with critical thinking.
• A customer-focused approach and the ability to develop effective relationships with internal client-managers and external agencies/individuals; the ability to establish rapport with individuals of all educational and occupational backgrounds.
• The ability to be a collaborative team member.
• Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures as they relate to recruitment.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others.
• Knowledge of sourcing techniques including experience and/or demonstrated skills contributing to the development of marketing materials.
• Knowledge of and experience in using social media for promotional purposes
• Knowledge of project management methodology and techniques, including the ability to produce quality detailed work, while driving process and managing goals
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and any applicant tracking system.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
