Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, a critical function for the company's financial operations. The Payroll Administrator's responsibilities are vital in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance with regulations, and providing essential information to support effective decision-making within the organization.


What you will be responsible for:

Payroll Processing

  • Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and enter data into computer systems.
  • Review various records to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

Data Management

  • Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from various records.
  • Enter employee information into the payroll system for new hires.
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, maintaining designated records.
  • Record employee information such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations for payroll updates.
  • Issue and record pay adjustments for errors or retroactive increases.
  • Track employee leave time, including vacation, personal, and sick leave.

Employee Support

  • Provide information to employees and managers regarding payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.
  • Assist with HRIS implementation, including testing and other assigned duties.

What we need from you:

  • Payroll experience 1-2 years (PCP preferred).
  • ADP Knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Post-secondary training an asset.
  • Experience with payroll software/systems and general proficiency with Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word).
  • Attention to detail & accuracy.
