Purpose
The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) – Faculty Relations is a member of the Human Resources team who specializes within the Faculty Relations stream. This position reports to the Senior HR Partner – Faculty Relations and is responsible for leading projects and initiatives that are focused on process improvements and efficiencies that support faculty relations and align with the University’s strategic mission. Additionally, the HRC – Faculty Relations supports department strategies and initiatives through research and analysis, interpretation of best practices, reporting, organizational design, training initiatives, and recommendations on a wide range of issues.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assisting and leading development, implementation, and socialization of HR Faculty Relations initiatives based on research and analysis;
Streamlining and automating data collection and analysis;
Engaging in regular review of processes with relevant stakeholders to assess efficiency and effectiveness;
Ensuring processes and procedures align with University policies and collective agreements;
Providing exemplary client services in a timely and respectful manner;
Developing analytics and metrics to support decision making and future planning;
Leading recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires;
Remaining current with latest HR trends and best practices;
Fostering positive and collaborative relationships across the University Community;
Setting up and maintaining Official Personnel Files, including keeping current files up to date and transitioning physical files to an electronic filing system;
Assisting with the development and implementation of training programs to support those involved in hiring and retention of faculty;
Building, implementing, and maintaining location specific reference manuals, standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions that fall under the scope of HR Faculty Relations;
Supporting employment engagement activities and initiatives including events and annual training;
Collaborating with cross functional teams to achieve departmental goals;
Supporting the development and implementation of strategic plans to enable client success;
Identifying and recommending strategies for process improvements;
Developing reports to provide information needed to make decisions on major projects; and
Defining, designing, and implementing continuous improvement programs using applicable methodology and analytics to achieve measurable process and equipment improvements.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a diploma in a relevant discipline, preferably in business with a focus on Human Resources, along with three to five years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Having or being on the path to completing a bachelor’s degree and/or becoming a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) would be considered an asset.
We are looking for a team player who values collaboration and who can also work independently and take initiative in a busy and challenging environment. The candidate must be able to prioritize workload in an environment with multiple and changing deadlines, along with the flexibility to provide support and collaboration with colleagues. Strong organizational and time management abilities are necessary and the successful candidate must be detail orientated and accurate. The position requires excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. Learning and development are critical for success, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and a focus on client service and best practices in the Human Resources profession.
Salary
The starting salary will be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education, skills, and experience. The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 to $67,000.
