We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Pacific Coastal Airlines. This position is a permanent full time position based at our head office at the South Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, BC. This is a hybrid position (on-site and remote).

Pacific Coastal Airlines is headquartered at the South Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport. As an established regional airline, we fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations, and beautiful communities within the province of British Columbia.

This role will be pivotal in supporting a variety of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, HR analytics, compensation, benefits administration, and HR systems management. As an HR Generalist, you will help drive operational efficiency and ensure compliance with employment laws while contributing to a positive employee experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Advisory & Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance on HR policies and best practices to both employees and managers
  • Assist with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, investigations, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Facilitate HR processes for leaves of absence, accommodations, and terminations

HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze HR metrics, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making
  • Use Microsoft Excel to generate reports on turnover rates, compensation trends, and workforce analytics
  • Identify trends and provide insights to enhance employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning
  • Prepare HR reports and presentations for senior leadership

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment efforts by assisting with job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and reference checks
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, ensuring proper documentation and system setup
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and assist in developing talent acquisition strategies

HR Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain employee records within the Dayforce HRIS, ensuring data integrity
  • Participate in HRIS audits and system improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve the overall employee experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience: 1 to 3 years of HR advisory experience, preferably within the airline or service industry

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, dashboards)
  • Experience with Dayforce HRIS is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other HR systems

Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
