Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Reporting to the Leader, Indigenous Recruitment and Retention, the Client Partner contributes to the proactive culture of talent acquisition by leading recruitment initiatives and developing talent pathways to support Indigenous recruitment and retention for Fraser Health. The Client Partner fulfils an integral role in building community networks and strategies to increase Indigenous voices, partnership, and contributions at all levels of the organization.

The Client Partner will plan marketing initiatives, lead and participate in initial research and candidate sourcing, develop strong relationships with potential candidates and referrals, and work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition team to identify Indigenous applicants to fill posted vacancies. Working in partnership across the organization, the Client Partner will identify and promote; opportunities, development, and resources to support Indigenous employees' career goals.
Responsibilities


  1. Coordinates recruitment services for the assigned portfolio to increase representation across all portfolios of Indigenous applicants that support the vision and values of Fraser Health.
  2. Delivers excellent customer service and guidance to hiring managers and provides professional recruitment by acting as an advocate and encouraging applications of internal and external Indigenous candidates.
  3. Works with the Talent team to develop retention and recruitment strategies to support current and forecasted recruitment needs of Fraser Health Senior Leadership, Directors and Managers. Provides guidance and sourcing advice focused on Indigenous candidates to hiring managers and other members of the Talent Acquisition team.
  4. Develops effective working relationships with relevant community groups, educational institutions, and professional associations to encourage more Indigenous students to move into health care positions. Represents Fraser Health at a variety of functions including conferences, networking and career events; prepares materials and delivers presentations, as required.
  5. Proactively sources Indigenous candidates and builds networks for current active and future career opportunities, conducts introductory and screening phone calls with potential candidates and referral sources; develops long-term candidate relationships.
  6. Performs recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, and qualifying Indigenous candidates, providing client interview recommendations, filling vacancies, conducting reference checks, providing onboarding support, and documenting activity within applicant tracking system.
  7. Provides candidate-focused recruitment assistance to Indigenous employees and Indigenous applicants; leads candidates through each stage of the recruitment process, ensuring regular communication and managing expectations throughout; coordinates with external departments and connects new self-identified Indigenous employees with the Talent Acquisition team for the purpose of on-boarding support.
  8. Connects and builds professional networks with Indigenous health professionals across Fraser Health including outreach, follow up and career support.
  9. Works effectively and collaboratively with the Leader to inform data collection, and reporting on statistics and demographics. Works with clients to best understand active and future external recruitment needs to ensure Fraser Health's progression on increased Indigenous representation.
  10. Maintains awareness of current trends and literature related to talent acquisition, Human Resources trends and best practices; develops strategic stakeholder relationships and continually assists with current issues and innovative talent acquisition initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Human Resources or a related field, and at least five (5) years' recent, related recruitment experience preferably in the recruitment/staffing agency or health care industry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, present ideas persuasively, and deliver formal presentations at meetings, conferences and academic institutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with strict attention to detail, plan and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently, and in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success.
  • Demonstrated ability to interview individuals to ascertain skill level.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of relevant software applications at an intermediate level including current word processing, spreadsheets, databases, ATS/CRM software, internet search tools, and social media from a recruitment perspective.
  • Demonstrates creativity, resourcefulness, ability to analyze information, and an excellent customer service-orientation.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
