Department Overview
The Engineering Services department manages Vancouver's public works and utility services, including transportation, streets, public space, water, sewer and drainage, solid waste, and the False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility. The department is responsible for policy development, planning, design, delivery, construction, and management of services and infrastructure on and under Vancouver's streets. Engineering plans, designs and manages Vancouver's network and public spaces through street and transportation planning and design, construction and maintenance, parking, street cleaning, and the regulation of activities on streets, such as street furniture, shared bikes and scooters, and special events and filming.
