This is for the spring/summer term, with the opportunity for full-time employment based on performance and company needs.

In this role you will support our Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining our occupational health and safety programs. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a career in OH&S. Responsibilities

• Assist the Safety Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures
• Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits
• Participate in safety training sessions and discussions
• Support incident investigations and hazard assessments
• Maintain safety documentation and records
• Promote a strong safety culture across all locations
• Conduct safety training and maintain safety training records
• Participate in training programs to develop skills/knowledge

Requirements

• Completed or enrolled in post-secondary program in OH&S, or related field
• Knowledge of OH&S regulations and best practices is an asset
• Proficient using MS Office suite; knowledge of safety programs an asset
• Desire to learn and grow in the role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, be self-motivated
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Valid driver's license required; with willingness to travel independently, as needed
