As an HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in aligning human resources policies and strategies with the overall business objectives of the company. You will serve as an advisor and consultant to management, working collaboratively to implement HR initiatives that drive organizational success. Your responsibilities will encompass various HR functions, including talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Planning:
    • Development and implementation of HR policies and programs.
    • Engagement in workforce planning, maintaining an awareness of workforce demographics, and operational requirements.
  • Talent Acquisition:
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and implement effective talent acquisition initiatives and strategies.
    • Provide guidance and support in talent development programs to nurture and retain exceptional employees.
    • Offer expertise and insights to hiring managers on performance management, career development, succession planning, and fostering a collaborative approach to talent management.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Partner with assigned business groups to provide organizational development support and act as a strategic HR advisor.
    • Mediate and resolve employee conflicts and disputes, fostering a positive culture and work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
    • Work closely with management and employees on engagement initiatives.
  • HR Onboarding and Administration:
    • Welcome new employees to the company by preparing materials for new hires and conducting company onboarding.
    • Support with administrative duties including maintaining employee documentation, drafting documents, filing, editing, data entry and scheduling activities.
    • Complete the day-to-day administration of Human Resources including addressing employee inquiries, providing guidance on policies and procedures, and investigating employee complaints and concerns as required.
  • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration with a Human Resources and Labour Relations focus.
  • 3-5 progressive HR experience in an HR Business Partner role.
  • CPHR designation or CPHR candidate working towards their designation would be considered an asset.
  • Skilled in fostering culture and works towards goals of diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong knowledge of Manitoba and Federal employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proven ability and strong confidence to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR project management and change management.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
