We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Truck and Transport Technical Trainer to work out of the company's head office in Dieppe. The Technical Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for technicians in our heavy-duty commercial truck dealership. This role aims to enhance the technical skills and performance of our service team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques in truck repair and maintenance. We offer:

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Service Managers to identify training needs and develop strategies to enhance technician performance and meet business needs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of all in-dealership training.
  • Deliver training sessions in the training room or in the shop environment, demonstrating repair techniques and best practices.
  • Manage training and mentoring programs for staff according to business demand and strategy.
  • Develop and regularly update training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and manufacturer updates to ensure training materials are relevant and effective and meet certification requirements as outlined by Daimler.
  • Attend quarterly trainer calls and participate in rep group activities, including revisions for the electrical troubleshooting course.
  • Provide technical support to service technicians, helping resolve troubleshooting issues and ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Serve as a mentor to technicians, offering guidance and support to help them achieve their professional development goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician in heavy-duty truck repair, with a strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Truck and Transport Red Seal License preferred
  • Ability to obtain specialized technical training from Daimler
  • Previous experience in a training or instructional role is preferred
  • Energetic, Enthusiastic and team oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals, guidelines, training materials, resumes, evaluations, and assessments. Ability to write evaluations, performance reports, and correspondence.
