Job Summary
Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) is a campus of Dalhousie's Faculty of Medicine. The main DMNB administrative office is located on the UNB Campus in Saint John. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Curriculum Coordinator will be responsible for administering and coordinating activities of the Dalhousie Medicine Medical Education curriculum, including program and faculty evaluation and assessment of student performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with DMNB and medical education staff and faculty to coordinate the curriculum.
  • Develop schedules, ensure integration of units or rotations, and resolve conflicts in curriculum and clinical experience schedules.
  • Serve as the primary administrative resource person for faculty and students regarding curriculum and clinical rotations.
  • Ensure all curriculum material, documents, and clinical rotation information are in the schedule and released appropriately.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures development by medical education. Coordinate, facilitate and supervise student examinations and review sessions.
  • Produce reports of preliminary examination results for review. Identify successes, issues and offer recommendations from an administrative standpoint.
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on the Saint John, New Brunswick DMNB campus
Required Qualifications
  • Business/Office Administrative diploma with approximately five years' related work experience preferably in a health professional education environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent communication and organization skills required with the ability to work in a team environment. Must be able to manage and organize workload, multitask and meet a variety of deadlines.
  • Additionally, must be able to exercise initiative, work independently, and handle sensitive and confidential student issues with considerable tact.
  • Proficiency with software packages, especially MS Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Assets
  • Knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care environment.
  • Knowledge of ExamSoft, BrightSpace, One45, and Adobe, or demonstrated ability to learn new software
