About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Physician Recruitment Director, the Manager of Physician Recruitment is accountable to lead the operations and implementation of the physician recruitment program that is aligned with the strategic recruitment strategy and the priorities of Nova Scotia Health.
The Manager is responsible for leading and supporting a team of zone-based physician recruitment consultants, talent acquisition specialists and assistants- providing leadership, coaching, professional development, and capacity building with all direct reports resulting in a knowledgeable, respectful, and coordinated team of recruitment professionals.

The Manager of Physician Recruitment supports the development and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures that aid in the overall coordination of a quality physician recruitment service and fosters a collaborative approach to internal and external relationships with stakeholders, partners and service providers in order to achieve coordination across systems, quality improvement and enhance transparency and accountability.

We are looking for individuals who are highly organized, able to think critically and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must have public relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally to a number of audiences.
The ability to multi- task, plan and prioritize large volumes of detail-oriented work all while being flexible is imperative.
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant and related field with 3-5 years progressive leadership experience or demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires a significant amount of travel throughout the province. Access to a reliable form of transportation is required.

This position utilizes a hybrid workplace model that combines working from home with working onsite. Candidates can live and work from anywhere in the province, with travel required only as necessary.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor degree in human resources, health, business, marketing and communications, public administration, or related field, or a combination of education and 2 years progressive leadership experience (Masters degree an asset, HR certificate an asset)
  • 3 years of relevant leadership experience with progressive accountabilities
  • Previous recruitment experience, in a health care environment
  • Excellent leadership, relationship building, organizational and decision skills
  • Knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
  • Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues
  • Critical thinking and analytical problem solving
  • Expertise in leading complex change
  • Quality improvement methodologies
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
  • Demonstrated advanced communications skills/positive energetic public persona
  • Cultural competence
  • Collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of physicians and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Possesses a sound knowledge of management and a working knowledge of information systems
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $56.81 Hourly
