Position Overview:

The Learning and Development Facilitator (L&D Facilitator), under the guidance of the Manager, Learning and Development, will consult and collaborate with internal customers to source and/or design effective training programs as requested, with a focus on skill-based requirements for roles in various departments (ie. Aircraft and Component-level Maintenance (Production), Materials, Engineering). Solutions may include OJT, classroom, online or blended delivery methods, as well as evaluating learning paths. In this role you will coordinate, deliver and evaluate training for a diverse customer base over multiple locations, following established processes.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and deliver training using a variety of instructional techniques, training aids and hands-on practical exercises on a variety of topics primarily related to aircraft, aircraft maintenance, component maintenance and possibly other related skills such as Aerial Platform use, First Aid, etc.
  • Consult with internal departments to determine training requirements and needs of analysis in consultation with internal customers.
  • Work collaboratively with the Learning and Development team and internal customers to design and/or source training solutions.
  • Drive and lead projects through the full training lifecycle
  • Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts to source necessary expertise.
  • Deliver and revise examinations associated with theoretical and practical aircraft instruction for areas of expertise, following applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Development, delivery, and maintenance of standard and specialized courseware packages to fit specific internal customers' requirements.
  • Coach and mentor SMEs and junior team members in training delivery skills
  • Maintain records and generate reports within Learning Management Systems
  • Support Production resourcing by coordinating Apprentice rotation and logbook signoffs.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Apprentices and assist Lead Hands and Supervisors with the oversight of assigned Apprentices.
  • Monitor and help coordinate work order/task assignments to ensure progression within the levels as required.
  • Support the probationary and annual Bargaining Unit training assessment process.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven leadership skills, both in classroom and leading projects
  • Comfortable facilitating learning and development in a variety of delivery techniques, (eg, online, classroom, OJT)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
  • Familiarity with the following is an asset: Transport Canada Regulations (CARs), Department of National Defence Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM), Quality Program Manual (QPM), Standard Plant Procedures (SPP), all maintenance, manufacturing and policy manuals, and scope of their certification authority.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, including the ability to deliver or facilitate the understanding of training content.
  • Proven ability to deliver constructive feedback while providing support for improvement.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Holder of MRA/ACA within the scope of their trade is highly desirable.
  • 5-10 years' experience performing maintenance on a variety of aircraft.
  • Experience with completed Type Course on either CH149 Cormorant or C130 Hercules aircraft is an asset.
  • First Aid qualifications are considered an asset.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
