Nova Scotia Power looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our HR Operations team in a full-time role. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, you'll be at the center of our recruitment efforts, ensuring we attract the best talent to power our corporate strategies.

As Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will:
- Collaborate & Strategize: Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand position requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Promote & Attract: Manage job postings on our career website and other platforms, positioning Nova Scotia Power as the employer of choice.
- Engage & Screen: Act as a brand ambassador, screen candidates, conduct interviews, and shortlist top talent.
- Deliver Excellence: Ensure a positive experience for both candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process.
- Leverage social media: Use platforms like LinkedIn and other (online) networks to identify and attract qualified candidates.
- Build Talent Pipelines: Implement recruitment strategies, encourage employee referrals, and participate in networking events and job fairs.
- Manage Processes: Oversee administrative tasks, manage the applicant tracking system (ATS - ICIMS), conduct background checks, negotiate salaries, and prepare job offers.
- Analyze & Improve: Review internal recruitment trends to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Take Initiative: Handle ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed.
These skills will make you successful:
- Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in Business or Human Resources, with 2+ years of experience in Recruitment/Talent Acquisition.
- Client-Centric Mindset: A focus on delivering excellent client service.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and social media platforms.
- Results-Driven: Ability to meet deadlines and achieve results.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent presentation and networking abilities.
- Proactive & Resourceful: A quick learner who thrives on challenges and can work independently.
- Team Player: Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
- Union Experience: Experience in hiring for unionized positions is a plus.
