About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director Quality Improvement, Safety and Patient Relations the Quality Improvement & Safety Leader will provide leadership within NSH's overall provincial and zone programs for quality, safety, accreditation, infection prevention & control, patient relations, risk management; and responsibility to implement all aspects of comprehensive quality, patient safety, infection prevention & control, patient engagement, patient relations, risk and accreditation plans to achieve the best outcomes in health care program and service delivery, safe care and continuous improvement to meet or exceed all accreditation requirements.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree from a health care profession program / discipline required
  • Master's level preparation in a clinical health discipline, Health Services Administration, Business Administration or a related program an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years quality and patient safety leadership experience, which includes 5 years of relevant clinical experience in a health care environment including expertise to critically review health records as part of the quality review process
  • Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organizations
  • Certificate or training related to quality, patient safety, risk management, or related program an asset
  • Certified Health Executive is an asset
  • Experience in planning and implementing a variety of strategic activities related to accreditation, safety, quality improvement, infection control and prevention practices, risk management, patient engagement, provided across several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders and while ensuring appropriate confidentiality
  • Experience engaging teams, leaders, medical staff, clinicians, patients/clients and stakeholders in a collaborative, participatory manner
  • Experience and demonstrated expertise within data management, data analysis and statistical manipulation; excellent report writing and presentation skills, presenting results in a meaningful manner specific to the target audience
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and graphics software required
  • Experience in project management and program evaluation an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability of independent decision making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change management and team building/ leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred
