Position Overview

We are looking for someone to join the team as a Payroll Specialist. This position is based at our corporate office in Ancaster, Ontario, and reports directly to the Payroll and Benefit Supervisor. In this position, you will play a key role in the administration and communication for the payroll and benefits department.

This role will be located in our corporate office in Ancaster Ontario.

Job Duties

  • Obtain, enter and/or verify data in the payroll system (using ADP-Workforce Now and SAP)
  • Assist team members to meet tight processing deadlines
  • Provide information to employees on payroll and benefit matters for approximately 950+ salaried and hourly employees based in Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Northwest Territories.
  • Process adjustments/entries for overtime, new hires, hours and earnings adjustments, terminations, severance, taxable benefits, vacation differentials, salary increases, incentives, garnishments, and Group RRSP/TFSA contributions.
  • Identifies benefit records by developing recordkeeping systems; initiating new hire benefits; recording changes.
  • Workers' compensation reports and payments
  • Ensuring compliance with all government regulations and company policies
  • Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all employee information
  • Manage all required functions as detailed on Payroll Run Checklists
  • Maintain employee records and filing systems
  • Work accurately and efficiently under pressure

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years experience in payroll, end to end administration
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation related to payroll and benefits
  • Previous SAP, SuccessFactors, and ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to perform in a multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong technical proficiency in MSOffice Suite with strong excel skills, including VLookup
