Our Training and Documentation Specialists lead the development of professional training documentation and promotional materials to support our Dealer-Owner training initiatives. You will have the opportunity to support the growth of our webinars, documentation and learning processes. Led by the Retail Education and Training Manager, this opportunity will suit someone with strong communication and organizational skills, and a passion for learning.
Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here's how:
Design, develop, and deliver eLearning and/or online training in various applications.
Apply sound instructional design principles to assure learner interaction and content retention including learning objectives, storyboarding, assessments, and blended learning where appropriate.
Develop instructional material, coordinate, write and edit learning content.
Manage, support, and develop The Expert Zone, Home's Learning Management System.
Provide ongoing support to users in the form of phone support, web-based training, support materials, workshops, and live presentations.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand documentation requirements including product, technical, and standard operating procedures to ensure training objectives are met.
Plan, design and develop professional training manuals and reference materials using specialized software; this includes manuals, job aids, FAQs, webinar content and design.
Develop video scripts to support the development of online training videos.
Provide quality control of all written material produced by the department for grammar, clarity, and audience.
Create marketing materials to promote training resources offered through the department, including articles for standard communications such as Dealer newsletters, News Flashes, and banner ads on our Dealer intranet site.
Create, maintain, update and upload training materials and related content to the Dealer intranet site.
We're looking for:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or Communication.
Three to five years' experience in a technical writing and eLearning focused role, with prior experience supporting webinars.
Ability to analyze complex processes and information to identify gaps and test theories.
Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with the ability to write clear and concise training materials with a high level of attention to detail.
Retail and graphic design experience is an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to respectfully challenge viewpoints when warranted.
Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Screen Capture Software, and Captivate, with the ability to adapt and embrace new software and programs.
A self-starter, with proven ability to initiate and prioritize projects and react to changing situations.
Ability to organize and work under strict time and production deadlines while producing quality deliverables.
Bilingual in both English and French is an asset.
Ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
