Reports to: Director, Talent and Engagement

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Talent and Engagement, the Senior Consultant, Performance & Talent will help design and deploy LifeLabs Talent, Learning and Leadership strategy to all levels of the organization by providing program and process guidance, and support of the development and execution of talent management programs, including talent programs, performance management, leadership development, and talent-focused events and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is someone with sound knowledge of performance management principles, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. The ideal candidate should be keen to propose, develop, and launch performance improvement strategies, show the capacity to think and reflect creatively and purposefully, can consult and provide subject matter expertise to leaders and embody a clear passion for talent and development.

LifeLabs operates under a Hybrid workforce model. Further details will be provided during the interview stage.

Accountabilities:

Talent Program Support and Execution:

  • Implements and activates the talent strategy through the development of programs, the execution of processes, and the design of resources and communications in partnership with HR Partners.
  • Recommends changes/enhancements to processes/tools. May lead process improvement activities.
  • Builds and reports on talent data and insights to contribute to functional talent strategy in alignment with Enterprise business and talent needs.
  • Provides program awareness support to Talent Programs as needed. May include developing draft presentations, communications, and program documentation, etc.
  • Research best practice for talent assessment, succession planning and top talent programs for both onsite and remote teams.
  • Helps design, develop and deploy talent strategies and the implementation of initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Develops and launches communication about talent initiatives to address audience needs and platform requirements when developing all solutions.
  • Acts as internal consultant with HR Partners at various levels to conduct needs assessments, providing process guidance on identification of skills gaps and assists in the identification of program recommendations for individuals and teams.
  • Manages system administration for talent processes (following implementation of HRMS solution phase II).

Performance Management Support and Execution:

  • Provides subject matter expertise guidance for program development, improvement, and execution, through partnership with HR Partners and key stakeholders to ensure effective program processes, communications, resources, and solutions.
  • Research best practice for performance management programs for both onsite and remote teams.
  • Proposes and leads the development of performance management strategies and implements initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Consults with HR Partners at various levels to conduct needs assessments, providing process guidance on identification of skills gaps and assists in the identification of program recommendations for individuals and teams.
  • Manages system administration for performance management processes (following implementation of HRMS)

Leadership Development Support and Execution:

  • Provides the Talent, Leadership and Learning team with tactical support to the implementation of Leadership Development initiatives, including coordination with HR Partners, vendors, and events.
  • Supports and provides process guidance for the identification of top talent.
  • Contributes to the development of leadership development programs, assisting and supporting in the implementation of initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Develops communication to support initiatives.

Change Management:

  • Works with teams across HR to support change management initiatives related to people, business processes and technologies via leveraging common change management frameworks and tools.
  • Supports the HR team with identifying change management strategies, tactics and plans including readiness and impact assessments, communication plans and risk assessments.
  • Supports the successful implementation of Talent, Leadership and Learning initiatives by considering and planning change management strategies and tactics that will increase adoption and support achievement of overall objectives.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • University degree in the field of HR, development or relevant equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in an HR specialist role, specifically focused in areas such as organizational effectiveness, change management, learning and development, leadership development or performance management
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Proven ability to deal with multiple projects and demands including strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong facilitation skills to lead small groups or meetings.
  • Proven ability to establish relationships, build trust and influence appropriately.
