The Specialist Performance, Accountability and Funding Allocation is responsible for ensuring the advancement of strategic and operational plans as well as develops and implements regional initiatives to promote integration and high-quality health system and client outcomes.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of health system on performance management of Health Service Providers (HSPs) and health system performance with knowledge in at least one of the following: Community Mental Health and Addiction, Hospitals, Primary Care or Long Term Care with a focus on integration.

  • Conducts program and service analysis associated with Health Service Provider program implementation and on-going funding.

  • Supports the development and implementation of the Ontario Health Annual Business Plan activities.

  • Assists in the development of OH performance reports by ensuring and completing appropriate data analysis, data interpretation, and incorporating feedback from relevant stakeholders.

  • Contributes to the process that analyzes and prioritizes opportunities for local health system implementation in alignment with local, regional and Ministry priorities.

  • Collaborates and works with local and regional programs and networks to implement initiatives aimed at improving the health system outcomes.

  • Supports and/or acts as a resource to identify and provide advice on community engagement objectives and activities.

  • Builds awareness of health services and participates in the dissemination of standards of practice among local providers.

  • Assists in identifying and monitoring high-risk issues.

  • Participates in local and provincial dialogue related to health system initiatives.

  • Assists in program and service reviews as it relates to capital projects (early planning stages) and Health Service Provider service gap analyses

  • Builds Ontario Health's institutional knowledge in areas of specialization through the development of briefing notes. Delivers presentations and transfers knowledge to others both within and external to OH.

  • Assists in the completion of Service Accountability Agreements (SAAs) in one or more designated sectors, from inception to completion, including the development of associated schedules.

  • Performs other related duties.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in a business, health administration, health-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a healthcare environment

  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: planning, health care administration, health care service delivery, performance or other relevant experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint and SharePoint.

  • 3+ year's experience in a health care environment, performance management, reporting and/or data analytics within the health care sector or other relevant experience

  • Experience in a client-facing role is preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of the current and changing dynamics of the Ontario health-care system and issues.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other staff and to liaise with colleagues across Ontario Health and with contacts in the Ministry.

  • Demonstrated financial competence.

  • Uses information to make informed decisions and provides advice; exercises high degree of independence and professional judgment in problem solving.

  • Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a face-paced environment with multiple priorities.

  • Externally, communicates directly with various stakeholders to monitor funding allocations and performance.

  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism with a solid understanding of financial controls.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
