Our Kingsville Headquarters is currently seeking a Trucking Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our Logistics team. The essential function of this position is to ensure compliance with ALL relevant transportation regulations in the US and Canada and plan and coordinate quarterly safety meeting for all truck drivers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with ALL relevant commercial transportation regulations in the US and Canada
  • Plan and coordinate safety meeting for all truck drivers
  • Monitor and maintain third party training for fleet
  • Maintain all equipment files (trucks, Trailers, Chassis, and yard equipment) & maintain the Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Manage and maintain all Driver Qualification files. Ensuring all documents are up to date.
  • Monitor and review HOS compliance and accuracy and correct issues
  • Produce monthly CVOR violation rates and submit it to the Operations Manager
  • Ensure driver operator's safety manual is current and ready to distribute at safety meetings
  • Produce spot "Hot Topic" safety alerts for drivers and write up, edit and publish newsletters
  • Conduct and/or assist with accident/collision and incident investigation
  • Communicate with designated company personnel regarding claims
  • Visit accident sites occasionally as needed
  • Occasionally assist the dispatch department with dispatch related tasks
  • Coordinate and plan Chauffeur Drivers assignments
  • Occasionally assist the leadership team with specific projects and initiatives
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

      Education/Background Requirements:

      • Completion of high school required. Education related to transportation safety is preferred.
      • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a Trucking Safety and Compliance Role is required.

      Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

      • Advanced understanding of MTO, DOT, NSC, , , and FMCSA regulations
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Some knowledge of equipment maintenance protocol
      • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance competing priorities
      • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
      • Proactive and solution focused
      • Able to analyze data and make recommendations
      • Must be able to work collaboratively
      • Must have a car, valid driver's license and ability to be insured
