We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team and help us continue building a thriving and supportive work environment.

As our Human Resources Generalist, you'll report to the Manager of Human Resources and will be at the heart of our human resources initiatives, supporting a variety of activities with a specific focus on Learning & Development, Performance & Goals management and the implementation of HR projects, policies, and processes. WHAT YOU WILL DO

 Learning and Development

  • Coordinate and ensure successful execution of the learning and development program, including training programs proposed by HR or the business in alignment with London Hydro's strategic plan.
  • Research and engage with vendors to design and tailor training programs that meet the specific needs of our employees and teams.
  • Actively participate in career development initiatives to support staff development and growth.
  • Design and upload engaging instructional training content into LMS, ensuring it is tailored to various learning needs.
  • Ensure corporate/policy compliance training is up-to-date and effectively implemented.
  • Administer and test the Success Factors LMS module, ensuring it is optimally configured to meet the corporation's needs and leverage its full potential.
  • Provide LMS support by answering system-related questions and liaise with IT to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Assist with the administration of employee training and certification in the MEARIE Apprentice Program.
  • Maintain accurate and current training requirements and records.

Performance & Goals Administration

  • Assist with and ensure timely completion of the Performance Management Process, including probationary period assessment and annual reviews.
  • Administer Success Factors Performance & Goals modules and assist with testing activities.
  • Assist with processing permanency documents for employees completing their probationary period.
  • Assist with the Progressions Year End Process to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Project & Program Support

  • Support Talent & Development projects, initiatives, and activities.
  • Lead and contribute to HR and business & systems improvement projects as needed.
  • Assist with programs and activities to improve employee engagement through initiatives, events, change management and employee surveys.

Reporting and Presentation

  • Research and prepare reports pertaining to a wide variety of matters.
  • Provide detailed reporting, analytics, and insights on internal and external talent trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Maintain and update organizational charts and support position management process.
  • Prepare professional presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with monthly budget accruals and participate in the annual budget process.

Business Partner

  • Provide first-level guidance and support to leadership in employee relations matters for staff.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure consistency in policies and programs across the organization.
  • Stay current with HR trends, best practices, and industry benchmarks.
  • Assist with administration, approvals and records management support.

Safety and Others

  • Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety Act rules and regulations, the IHSA EUSR rulebook and London Hydro work practices. Report all injuries and near misses immediately. Perform all activities in a manner that protects the health and safety of yourself and others. Wear all personal protective equipment as required. Understand and comply with London Hydro Health and Safety policies.
  • Assist the HR Coordinator with recruitment related activities.
  • Provide backup support to the HR Assistant in their absence.
  • Perform other duties related to the above job purpose.

  • Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field) considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ progressive human resources experience.
  • Functional and practical working knowledge of human resource principles and practices and employment legislation.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Business partner mentality with strong commitment to a client-service approach.
  • Possesses a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills. Committed to accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint/Presentation Software considered an asset.
  • Proficient in HRIS software (SAP Success Factors) is considered an asset.
  • High professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Experience / knowledge of the electricity sector and/or regulated entities considered an asset.
