Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President, the Director, Human Resources Business Partner will lead a team of HR professionals who support regional teams in the Retirement division across Ontario, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, as well as corporate services. This leadership role is pivotal in driving organizational and people strategies, partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to align HR initiatives with business objectives while fostering a culture of collaboration, engagement, and growth.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead and Develop the HR Team: Oversee, coach, and manage a team of regional HR professionals to deliver consistent, high quality HR services, ensuring alignment with the organization's HR and labour strategy.
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with operational leaders, acting as a trusted advisor to the Senior Operations Leadership Team to align HR practices with business priorities.
  • Change Management & Program Implementation: Deliver HR programs and initiatives through effective change management and communication strategies to ensure adoption and impact.
  • Leadership Coaching: Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on complex people-related matters, including performance management, team dynamics, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Conflict Resolution & Employee Relations: Address and resolve team member concerns, oversee the administration of HR programs, and support leaders in fostering positive workplace environment.
  • Policy and Compliance Oversight: Ensure consistent application of HR policies, standards, and processes, ensuring alignment with the organization's purpose, vision and values.
  • Operational Planning: Develop and execute an annual HR operational plan aligned with the organization's business plan to address current and future talent needs.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention: Partner with business leaders to implement strategies that enhance team member engagement, retention, and overall workplace culture.
  • HR Program and Policy Support: Collaborate with leaders to communicate and operationalize HR policies and procedures, ensuring they meet business needs and legislative standards.

Who You Are:

  • You bring 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in multi-site environments, including both unionized and non-unionized settings.
  • You have at least 3 years of leadership experience, managing and developing a team of HR professionals.
  • You hold a university degree or college diploma, and a CHRL or CHRE designation (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • You have a proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You offer extensive experience providing strategic employment and labour-related advice, navigating complex legislative and employment matters across multiple provinces.
  • Your program management skills are exceptional, and you thrive in multi-tasking environments.
  • You have a track record of partnering with and influencing senior leaders, providing guidance on critical HR issues.
