Reporting to the Director Organization Development, this is an exciting opportunity to apply your expert employee relations skills, lead program development, and activate talent, engagement, and other employee initiatives as you partner with the business at all levels of leadership. You will support the Corporate Head Office division to consult, advise, and align HR and business strategies, flawlessly execute people initiatives, and enable the business to provide exceptional employee experiences. You will build programs, tools and processes and drive continuous improvement in an environment where your expertise is valued. This individual will lead strategic projects such as performance management, recognition, and policy integration.

This position will be located in our Markham, Ontario corporate office and offers flexibility through our hybrid work model.

Accountabilities:

  • Trusted advisor and business partner to leaders at all levels of the organization to achieve their goals through engaging people

  • Oversee employee relations and lead workplace investigations, providing guidance and support to resolve conflicts and ensure a positive work culture

  • Lead programs from inception to execution including design, delivery, and communication

  • Manage people programs including recognition, DEI, and performance management

  • As an extension of the OD team, drive implementation of talent, organizational culture, and engagement programs within business groups

  • Lead policy integration and compliance across the entire organization to improve and simplify procedures and define what good looks like for the organization

  • Lead orientation and onboarding for corporate head office roles and monitor retention

  • Continuously monitor key people trends (i.e., turnover, absence management, etc) through robust analytics available through our HRIS (Workday) and provide insightful recommendations to the business. Support workforce planning by proactively identifying talent issues and gaps, making recommendations based on the data.

  • Partner with Centres of Excellence (COEs) to deliver HR services to the business and implement new innovative solutions that will improve the overall employee experience and build strong communication plans for the organization

  • Thrive with a project management mindset as you design, plan, and implement HR programs and solutions across head office teams, which includes performance management, succession planning, DEI, recognition, engagement, and compliance

Requirements:

  • University Degree or diploma in Human Resources. CHRL designation preferred.

  • Regarded as an exceptional communicator with strong presence and ability to influence a range of stakeholders

  • Track record of successfully managing program development, project management through to execution and implementation

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Responsive, with a customer and employee first mindset

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

  • Excellent knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and other legislation

  • Experience working with Workday is an asset

  • Natural ability to build strong rapport with corporate executives and partners

  • Progressive human resources experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR Advisor

  • DEI program experience is an asset

  • Resourceful and self-motivated with growth mindset to learn new skills
