POSITION SUMMARY:

You're a Senior Software Developer with solid experience in delivering enterprise grade solutions and enhancements within the HCM domain. Although passionate about building solutions that integrate with the enterprise platform, you're also not adverse to tackling the challenges that legacy platforms present. You actively seek to fully understand the business needs and thrive in environments where you have the independence in your work and take ownership over your deliverables. In collaboration with business systems analysts, other technical leads and developers, you're engaged in all phases of the platform support and development lifecycle to design and implement solutions, develop integrations with internal/external solutions as well as lead/support the development of standards, best practices and methodologies for a customer base in HR, Payroll and Business Operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Project Management, Architects, Business System Analysts and others to develop detailed solutions, estimates, and project plans in support of business priorities.
  • Lead and work collaboratively with team members to formulate effective designs, development, and delivery of various HCM application components, including reports, interfaces, conversions, and implementation of custom solutions.
  • Ensure architecture and design principles and best practices are adhered to during the design and development of solutions.
  • Perform analysis of patches, technical customizations and/or recommend the removal of customizations against the HCM platform.
  • Design, build, test, and implement remediation's which meet functional and technical specifications of a large HCM software platform.
  • Regularly work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Collaborate with and provide oversight to peers including formal/informal design and code reviews.
  • Coach, mentor, and train other team members with the ability to delegate structured assignments and monitor progress.
  • Write sometimes complex SQL scripts to address gaps in functionality and/or performance of applications as necessary.
  • Lead and/or support initiatives to implement process efficiencies as well as the introduction of automated tool(s).
  • Manage migration of new software features through throughout the SDLC lifecycle (DEV, Test/QA, UAT).
  • Enforce appropriate Change Management processes for Production changes.
  • Provide production support as necessary (not overnight or 24/7).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree.
  • 7+ years of analysis & development experience, providing both project as well as production support.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing solutions for HCM applications - HR, Payroll, Core Benefits and Time & Labor, including experience and understanding of the HCM data model.
  • Experience within the PeopleSoft platform using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, BI Publisher and fluid design is an asset.
  • Must have strong SQL/ Query experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in using and adhering to a Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Solid understanding of application design, relational database, design patterns and object-oriented principles.
  • Solid understanding and experience with formal IT project methodologies, processes and practices.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills that rely on a structured approach to analysis.
  • Ability to create design documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with business and technical staff, project managers in both oral and written form.
  • Proven experience in leading/supporting other technical resources.
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience in data integration and the specification of data services.
  • Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
  • Healthcare domain experience is an asset.
  • ESB (Boomi, Mule, etc.) low code workflow development experience is an asset.
  • Experience in requirements analysis, system design proposals, cost/benefit analysis and testing in support of solution development is an asset.
  • Experience in defining, implementing and/or enhancing requirements gathering processes and templates is an asset.
