Position Summary...

The Director Talent Acquisition is responsible for setting the end-to-end Talent Acquisition strategy, leveraging Candidate Experience technology and proactive sourcing methods for SSC, Stores, Health, and Logistics. The Director provides direction and leadership to the National TA team that partners with all levels of the business to execute the sourcing plan to proactively attract the right talent at the right time, with the right capabilities. From Associates to Field Management, SSC Directors/Professional, Technical/Management and non-officer VP. The TA team oversees both the Internal and External recruitment processes.

What you'll do...

  • Build the Employer Brand, Candidate Experience and set the strategic direction for the TA team to source and secure the talent and capabilities that WMC needs to execute and deliver on the strategic priorities, now and in the future.
  • Proactively build strategies to support future ways of working and workforce planning ensuring WMC has the right talent, at the right time with the right capabilities across all Business Units.
  • Source, select and manage vendor relationships with all recruitment and selection service providers, including negotiation of fees, service level agreements, contracts, and quality monitoring, to ensure Walmart Canada has high quality, low cost preferred suppliers to leverage to meet our business needs.
  • Support and manage the consistent delivery of a high quality candidate experience (both internally and externally) to ensure all candidates feel valued and engaged, regardless of the recruitment outcome.
  • Build strong partnerships with hiring managers and stakeholders, to clarify and understand the business needs and effectively identify, assess and hire the talent required to grow and sustain the business.
  • Develop, deliver and maintain relevant tracking, reporting and hiring metrics to monitor volume, service quality, and timeliness of services. Utilize for regular storytelling, capacity planning and strategic thought leadership - presenting to executive leadership
  • Formulate innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies, collaborate with senior leadership in Canada and Walmart Global to align with business objectives, analyze market trends, and drive continuous improvement in processes to attract top talent and enhance candidate experience. Plan for the future while simultaneously navigating the "now."
  • Ensure the implementation and continuous improvement of DEI and accessibility practices, policies, and processes within the talent acquisition function

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in-house talent acquisition and recruitment agency experience
  • 5+ years leading high performing recruitment teams
  • Demonstrated success in workforce planning and implementing inclusive, efficient and engaging hiring processes within a matrix organization
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrates humility, patience and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong track record of coaching, developing, and leading associates; both individual contributors and people leaders
