Summary:
The SQF Practitioner will be responsible for the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF program at Cerelia Bakery Canada. The incumbent will work closely with the quality team to ensure all aspects of the company's operations comply with SQF regulations and best practices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  1. Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF system for our cookie manufacturing facility.
  2. Ensure compliance with all SQF Food Safety Code requirements relevant to our production processes.
  3. Integrate additional requirements per specific customer's food safety program.
  4. Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address any potential food safety hazards and non-conformances.
  5. Develop and maintain SQF program documentation, including procedures, records, and reports.
  6. Lead and participate in investigations of food safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  7. Train and educate employees on SQF principles and procedures to foster a culture of food safety awareness.
  8. Stay up to date on the latest SQF requirements and best practices in food safety.
  9. Assist QA Manager with SQF certification audits, as well as 3rd party audits, and address any findings.
  10. Act as QA Manager back-up when required.
  11. Adhering to all policies, procedures and programs of the company (GMP, Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety etc.) at all times.
  12. Other related duties and assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing with a focus on food safety.
  • Completion of HACCP training course.
  • Proven understanding of SQF Food Safety Code V9: Food Manufacturing and its implementation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise SOPs and Policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
