MHICA has two state-of-the-art facilities combined to 476,000 sq. ft. This comprises of Manufacturing & Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, where highly-skilled employees are working on Bombardier's sector-leading Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 350 business aircraft. MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing. Scope of Position Reporting to the Manager - Environmental, Health & Safety, the Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible to support the day-to-day activities including administrative and shop floor requirements as it pertains to MHICA's Health & Safety Program, while working with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Team to improve and maintain the safety of our workplace. Provide support and assistance to the Health & Safety Team as required. Assist the Manager - Environmental, Health & Safety with Health & Safety monitoring activities. Maintain working knowledge of current and new and upcoming legislative requirements. Engage in routine inspection of all MHICA buildings and any related inventory control as it pertains to the safety of all MHICA buildings. Enforce MHICA's Health & Safety Protocols on a daily basis and resolve any non-conformance issues as per required practice. Develop and update Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Plans. Conduct incident investigations when required and ensure reports are submitted to the EHS Manager and other levels of management. Provide daily, weekly, monthly incident and other KPI statistical information to the EHS Manager. Maintain the safety training database to ensure the information is current and accurate. As close to 100% accuracy is a must. Work with the EHS Manager to coordinate employee safety training and prepare training packages and other support required for safety training. Maintain Contractor Program including obtaining appropriate certificates for third party contractors and ensure all information is accurate and entered into appropriate spreadsheets/databases. Maintain contractor training program and conduct contractor training as required. Responsible for maintaining safe inventory checks around the facility such as spill kits, eyewash stations and PPE inventory including but not limited to assisting with PPE research, ordering inventory, entering requisitions and maintain stock. Maintain the Chemical Management Database to include inventory of chemicals, obtaining current SDS, database entry and preparation of binders for all MHICA facilities. Maintain the Action Tracking Database including data entry for corrective action items arising from workplace inspections, investigations, and safety meetings into other database management systems. Ensure follow-up action arising from corrective action is completed in a timely manner by the responsible person. Ensure appropriate MOL, WSIB, other legislative documents and internal safety communication are posted on Safety Communication Boards at all MHICA buildings. Assist the EHS Manager with the management Fire Safety Program throughout all MHICA buildings. Assist the EHS Team with administration of various occupational health & safety projects. Assist with other administrative duties including but not limited to maintenance of other databases, filing and minute taking, as required. Assist with administrative duties as it pertains to internal and external audits/evaluations. Assist the Disability Management & Safety Coordinator with First Aid Requirements. May be required to support first aid functions and complete first aid support. May be responsible for after hour injury/illness and/or other health & safety related matters and required to respond to after hour calls/messages, if required. Assist with Health & Safety Wellness initiatives including infectious control protocols. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications Attention to detail is a must with as close to 100% accuracy as possible. Must have a safety mind set and be able to handle non-conformance situations in a professional manner. Must be organized, flexible and possess good time management skills while meeting deadlines. Must be able to handle demanding situations and work well under pressure. Must have a good attitude and able to take direction well. Ability to work various shifts to support business needs. Must be approachable and possess good interpersonal skills. Experience A minimum of 2-4 years of working experience in Occupational Health & Safety is a must. Familiarity with manufacturing and aerospace industry is considered an asset. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office O365 with intermediate to proficient knowledge in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be first aid certified. Must be willing to work towards maintaining OHS training and certification. Education Bachelor's Degree (or college diploma or certificate) in OHS.
