Job Summary

Now, if you were to come on board as our Sr. Manager, Hospitality and Training, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Design, develop and implement comprehensive hospitality training programs to deliver maximum business impact and results.
  • Provide visionary leadership for the Resident First (R1) brand, ensuring its continuous enhancement and inspired ownership.
  • Champion the R1 brand culture through regular site visits, supporting unit-level managers in the implementation of brand materials, and reinforcing key learnings among all associates.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to understand learning needs, define success measures, and ensure content is relevant and up to date.
  • Develop and implement any other sector related Hospitality programming required, facilitating opportunities for brand training and implementation
  • Oversee the R1 Hospitality Spotlight recognition program, ensuring consistent weekly recognition.
  • Facilitate face-to-face training for a variety of management and front-line associates.
  • Use blended learning techniques to facilitate training programs.
  • Monitor, track and evaluate the training programs to ensure effectiveness.
  • Conduct research into programs and tools leading to the best options for delivery.
  • Provide ongoing support with maintenance reviews of existing learning programs to ensure accuracy, quality, business impact and scalability.
  • Conduct needs analysis, identify learner performance gaps, make recommendations for creating new, and improving/revising existing training programs.
  • Partner with Operations to support key client initiatives related to Hospitality & Training.

Think you have what it takes to be our Sr. Manager, Hospitality and Training? We're committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here's how we'll know you'll be successful in the role:

  • 5+ years' experience with developing and facilitating training sessions in a corporate environment
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field, or combined education and relevant experience
  • Strong evidence of continuous learning
  • Proven ability to employ adult learning principles throughout the instructional design and facilitation processes
  • Experience with coaching and mentoring managers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Great consultative skills with strong ability to influence all levels of professionals
  • Strong project and time management skills including planning, analysis, organizing and prioritizing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to travel up to 40% (within Canada)
  • Additional assets include:
    • CTP or CTDP or CHRP
    • Certificate in Instructional Design
    • Knowledge of DISC methodology
    • Coaching designations
    • Knowledge of Ken Blanchard training
    • Skill in using online development tools such as Articulate storyline, etc.
    • Knowledge of learning management systems
