Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager, ASE & AMPS, the Community Safety Camera Assistant is responsible for providing a full range of support to the Manager and activities related to the ASE & AMPS. Coordinates with camera vendors, ensuring camera vendor site inspections are completed, processing mail, operating the centre's envelope stuffer and postage, and assembling Full Disclosure packages for the AMPS program. Performs a range of administrative office support activities.

Job Requirements
  1. Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or Law Clerk and demonstrated related experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

  2. Demonstrated experience in a municipal office environment with multi-service provision and/or broad knowledge of a variety of service functions.

  3. Knowledge and experience working within a municipal and/or Provincial Offences environment an asset.

  4. Effective interpersonal, public relations, and problem/complaint resolution skills. Ability to resolve problems while maintaining composure regardless of the demands of the environment.

  5. Demonstrated time management skills with an ability to prioritize demands, meet customer service standards, deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

  6. Strong verbal, written communication skills and customer service orientation with ability to deal with sensitive issues.

  7. A team-oriented person with demonstrated initiative and research skills. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).

  8. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and flexibility to perform multiple tasks.

  9. Ability to assist in the preparation of concise/professional reports and presentations.

  10. Strong ability to exercise discretion and good judgement particularly when handling confidential/sensitive information.

  11. Proven ability to work effectively and confidentially with all levels of management, members of Council and the public.

  12. Valid Class "G" Driver's License in good standing and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.

  13. Due to the responsibilities of this position a Criminal Matters & Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
