Are you an experienced Human Resources professional who loves working in a dynamic environment? We are looking for an individual who has experience in researching total rewards best practices and programs and can assess gaps, runs cost analysis, and formulates recommendations to ensure Niagara Casinos ongoing compensation strategy is equitable and competitive. The job involves:

  • Performing analysis and providing recommendations on total rewards, with a focus on compensation
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and procedures, pay grades and compensation structure
  • Acting as the subject matter expert of the job evaluation system; providing direction and guidance to others on the interpretation and application of the tool
  • Partnering with Operations and Recruitment on designing new jobs and organizational structures; preparing org charts for submission to AGCO to ensure compliance for all changes
  • Ensuring transparent, credible, fair and consistent programs; development and implementation of communication of employees' total compensation package (i.e.: total rewards statements)
  • Completing pay equity reviews and ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Completing analysis and recommendations for all compensation requests and presenting to the Compensation Committee
  • Preparing the agenda for, and facilitating, the monthly Compensation Committee meetings
  • Participating in external compensation benchmarking and compensation surveys to ensure market competitiveness
  • Completing and administering the annual compensation cycle review including compression analysis, merit increases and bonus programs
  • Providing advice and guidance to HR partners and management regarding compensation policies, guidelines and procedures, and legislative requirements
  • Keeping an up-to-date inventory of local and industry collective agreements to identify gaps or areas of concern with total rewards package
  • Providing analysis/costs and presenting a variety of information (e.g., benefit changes, pension costs, COLA impact, wage rate comparisons, etc.) for use in collective bargaining
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • CHRP required; CCP or CEBS designation
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Human Resources with a specialization in total compensation
  • Thorough understanding of collective agreements, regulations and relevant legislation (PBA, CRA, Pay Equity, ESA)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local and gaming labour market trends
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective compensation strategies
  • Thorough understanding of benefit plans (extended health & dental, life insurance, EFAP, STD, LTD)
  • Excellent computer skills (Infinium, Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio)
