About the Job

As the Mechanic at our Walker Environmental Division Compound located in Niagara, you are a certified Mechanic, Truck and Coach Technician (310T). You are a strong team player who enjoys servicing and troubleshooting vehicles and equipment, as well as performing preventive maintenance on equipment. You are able to work independently, interpreting work orders and technical manuals, maintaining work logs and meeting deadlines.

  • You process information quickly; you enjoy troubleshooting and creating solutions.
  • You take the time to get the job done correctly and safely. You watch for maintenance indicators and anticipate problems before they happen.
  • You actively look for ways to maximize your role and make our whole operation better.
  • You'll be joining a collaborative team that's small but mighty. Your helpfulness will make the whole team stronger.

This is a unionized, hourly position. We offer a rate of $38.00 per hour to start and after the 3-month probationary period is over you will be increased to $39.00 per hour, and receive full benefits and pension plan.

Here's What You Need

  • Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
  • Experience repairing and maintaining trucks through inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems.
  • Knowledge of construction/heavy equipment would be an asset, especially hydraulics, electronics and automation systems.
  • Able to lift 60lbs
  • Valid driver's license
