What would my role be?

Reporting to the Director, Clinical programs, you will:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate all activities of the assigned unit in order to provide high quality patient care.
  • Manage the administrative and clinical of a patient care unit in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act, the philosophy, mission and strategic direction of Bruyère Health, the standards from Accreditation Canada, the Regulated Health Professionals' Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the relevant collective agreements.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Manage clinical issues, practices and home first philosophy.

How do I qualify?

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing or in an Allied Health Profession.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Medical, Surgical Nursing or related Allied Health.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a leadership position.
  • Candidates must be qualified for professional practice in Ontario and registered with their discipline specific professional College in one of the above-mentioned disciplines.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in nursing, Health, Public, Education or Business administration
  • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)

  • Extensive knowledge in the field of designated program
  • Knowledge in QI principles and their applications

  • Advanced knowledge in medical terminology.
