About the role

Our Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) teams are growing across several business areas and programs in support of Canada's most complex challenges and we are growing our team in Human Resources (HR).

The Lockheed Martin HR team provides strategic human capital support that aligns with the key priorities of our business.

The successful candidate for this Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position will support the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), Small Combatants and Ship Systems (SCSS) business unit including Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC). Reporting to the Senior HRBP, this role provide world class HR support for the clients. This position will also collaborate and integrate with United States (US) and International HR colleagues in delivering a One HR Solution to the Canadian Workforce.

The HRBP will be a champion of Lockheed Martin's culture and values, partnering with our business leaders on strategic human capital initiatives. The role will solve complex organizational challenges requiring data analysis and the development of innovative solutions to support and execute HR and the client’s organizational goals. They will work closely with client leaders to deliver HR initiatives and processes such as talent management, salary planning, performance management, promotion planning, and rewards & recognition to enable client groups to meet their business objectives.

In order to be effective in this role, the HRBP must consistently demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to interact with employees, including various levels of leadership. It is expected that the HRBP will engage with employees to confidentially address concerns and provide support to leadership, addressing employee relations and organizational issues promptly. This role will lease the RMS HRBP team and integrate with the HR Centres of Expertise and other organizations to proactively work through complex problems and formulate/propose actionable solutions to deliver integrated people solutions. While performing in this role, it is expected that the HRBP will provide pro-active advice and counsel to leaders while maintaining integrity with HR policy and procedure.

What you bring to the role

  • Completed a bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Solid organizational and time management capabilities
  • Strong data analytics experience
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • HR certification preferred (Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR))
  • Experience working in HR systems
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, and regulatory requirements in Canada
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment.
